ECOTOURISM MELANESIA is a Port Moresby-based tour operator specialising in ecotourism experiences in Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands. Our aim is to encourage overseas visitors to travel to the rural areas so that more tourism dollars will go directly into the pockets of local people, giving them a viable alternative to less enviro-friendly forms of income like logging and mining.

 

Ecotourism Melanesia is a Papua New Guinea company established by Aaron Hayes, a teacher and psychologist by profession who developed a passionate interest in ecotourism after living and working in Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea and developing strong ties with local people at the village level.

We assist clients to plan customised itineraries as well as offering a range of standard package eco-tours to a variety of destinations in PNG and Solomon Islands. We specialise in booking village-based guest houses, lodges and homestays that most travel agents don't know about or don't want to know about.
