SEPTEMBER 2007 – GOROKA SHOW AND KALAM CULTURE FESTIVAL TOUR 13 nights The Kalam Tribe live in the remote Madang Highlands. For the past two years they have mounted an annual culture festival to help preserve their culture and cultivate ecotourism. Due to poor promotion very few outsiders have turned up to witness this in-situ display of a unique culture. In 2007 the Kalam Festival has been moved to the weekend following the Goroka Show to encourage visitors to take in both festivals, and this group will be the first! All combined with some adventurous Ramu River water travel and water activities in Madang. Soft adventure. |

NOVEMBER 2007 – MILNE BAY CANOE FESTIVAL TOUR 11 nts The canoe (or “kenu”) festival showcases PNG’s centuries-old maritime traditions and last year attracted canoes from as far afield as Balimo in the Western Province. War canoes, sailing canoes, fishing canoes and trading canoes of all shapes and sizes and with all manner of decorations are involved, and a range of canoe races both serious and hilarious.
