Mission statement

Ecotourism Melanesia Ltd commits itself to:

1. offer and provide a high quality ecotourism experience for clients.

2. operate in a sustainable and profitable manner and return a dividend to our shareholder/s.

3. support local communities and businesses by purchasing goods and services at the local level whenever practical, including employment of guides, carriers, transport operators etc from the local community where the tourism activity takes place. We choose to patronise locally owned businesses and facilities in preference to foreign-owned enterprises, even if this involves acceptably higher cost.

4. support village communities and individual local entrepreneurs in their development of community-based tourism products by offering advice/training and supporting the product with promotion and bookings. At least one day trip or overnight visit to a village community will be a standard feature of any tours we arrange.

5. tread lightly on the biological and cultural environment by ensuring that tourism activities are sustainable and non-damaging, and by advising visitors how to minimise their potential impact.
